It's no secret that you may encounter a sneaky bug or two while navigating the endless skies. If this happens, you can always refer to this useful manual in which we teach you how to inform us about all sorts of issues.
You can report a bug on…
- …the Steam forums, specifically, in the Bug Reports subforum. (Please, use the General Discussions subforum for general questions and conversations and the Feedback and Suggestions subforum to let us know what you like or dislike about Black Skylands.)
- …the #bug-reports channel on our official Discord server.
To report a bug, please share the following files with us:
- Player log;
- Game save;
- DxDiag;
- Crash report (only in case of a crash).
Player log: how to find
- Open a file explorer window;
- Copy this path: C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\LocalLow\HungryCouch\BlackSkylands\, then paste it in the file explorer window address bar. Press Enter;
- In the folder that opens, find the Player file.
Game save: how to find
- Open a file explorer window;
- Copy this path: C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\LocalLow\HungryCouch\BlackSkylands\Saves\, then paste it in the file explorer window address bar. Press Enter;
- In the folder that opens, you will find folders named "Profile[number]". Save files for different player profiles are stored there.
DxDiag: how to obtain
- In the Windows “Start” menu, type “dxdiag” and press Enter;
- Wait until your PC collects the data;
- Press “Save all information…”. It will be put in a DxDiag.txt file.
Crash report: how to find
- Open a file explorer window;
- Copy this path: C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Temp\HungryCouch\BlackSkylands\Crashes, then paste it in the file explorer window address bar. Press Enter;
- That folder contains separate folders for separate crashes. The folder name has the time/date of a crash, so you should be able to identify the one that you need;
- Share the crash report files with us using a file hosting service.
Give us your game version number. You can find it in-game in the lower-left corner.
After you have all the necessary files, please upload them using a file hosting service. You can use Dropbox or Google Drive. Share the link with us.
The more of the files mentioned above you can provide, the easier it will be for us to analyze and fix a bug. Thank you!
